A LONG-AWAITED JUSTICE IS NOW OVER
11 Jun 21, The apex court in India gave a ruling on 8 Apr 21 for the compensation to the bereaved families of the two Indian fishermen who were shot dead in 2012, by the Italian Marine off the court of Kerala on a suspect that they were sea pirates. As published by Hindustan Times we were informed that Centre’s compliance affidavit dated January 5, which HT has seen and reviewed, the Italian government offered to pay a total of ₹10 crores in damages. The families of the two deceased fishermen have agreed to compensation of ₹4 crores each in addition to the ₹2 crores already paid by the Italian government.
